Status of NCLB Highly Qualified Teacher Requirements

Online Work-Based Learning Course Now Available

Online training for CTE work-based learning that meets the requirements of the Texas Teacher Assignment Rules (TAC 19, Part 2, §231) for Career Preparation and practicum teachers is now available. It can be accessed free of charge at: http://www.TEAWBLTraining.org

The training takes approximately 10 hours to complete and is divided into 12 sections covering laws, rules, and procedures related to work-based learning and safety. For additional information or assistance, email CTE@tamucc.edu.

United States Presidential Scholars Program and CTE Students

The Texas Commissioner of Education will nominate five students who have excelled in a CTE program to apply as part of the United States Presidential Scholars Program. This is the first year that CTE students have been included as nominees for this prestigious award.

Application due date is September 11, 2015.
