Child Development Associate™ (CDA)
The Child Development Associate™ National Credentialing Program has changed the criteria for obtaining a CDA and now accepts applications from students who have done their work in high school. This is a wonderful opportunity for high school students to earn a credential and then be a quality candidate for employment in Head Start programs. Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE)
The Texas Association of Future Educators Advisors’ Workshop Stepping Stones to Success will be held on Friday and Saturday, September 27-28, 2013 at the DoubleTree Suites, 303 West 15th Street, Austin, Texas. All participants will gain a broader understanding of their important role as advisor and earn required CPE hours in the process. Information on TAFE as a CTSO (Career and Technical Student Organization) and how the program works with the courses in the Education and Training, and Human Services career pathways will be discussed.

Advanced Technical Credit (ATC) – Important Deadline
The deadline for teachers to receive Advanced Technical Credit (ATC) approval for 2013-2014 is September 27, 2013.
Since all training is now available online, teachers can register and take the Part I and Part II trainings at any time but to be approved for the 2013-2014 school year, teachers must obtain approval by September 27, 2013. The training is for new teachers and those teachers whose approval expired at the end of the 2012-2013 school year. Texas Council on Economic Education (TCEE)

National Career Pathways Network (NCPN)
The National Career Pathways Network (NCPN) will host its 2013 national conference at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Antonio, Texas, October 13-15. Be sure to register by October 4, to take advantage of the preregistration discounted rate. After October 4, registration will be onsite at the conference. The conference has a number of breakout sessions. The conference also has a variety of pre-conference workshops.
