Mission Statement

Our Mission is to provide free online instructional resources to Texas teachers implementing the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Career and Technical Education. Our focus is on helping teachers provide high quality, rigorous instruction for three career clusters: Education and Training, Hospitality and Tourism, and Human Services. Our goal is to help teachers make teaching and learning engaging, relevant, and meaningful to students' lives.

In an effort to support the development of student leadership skills and participation in career and technical student organizations (CTSO), all SIRDC lesson plans include a CTSO component. Strategies for working with special needs populations and limited English language learners are included, as well as enrichment and service learning components.

The College and Career Readiness Standards as well as career awareness and career preparation standards have been integrated and collectively serve as the underlying foundation of the resources and activities of this project.

We will continually encourage and seek active involvement, participation and suggestions from our cluster teachers in the collection and development of our resources.
